Tracey Stewart
Bray Park State High School
Tracey Stewart is using her extensive industry knowledge and experience to help her Hospitality students achieve top marks, hone their practical skills, and improve their employability as they transition into their post-school lives.
Her commitment to extending and supporting each student is so strong that it is not uncommon for Hospitality students at Bray Park State High School to receive 98 or 100 per cent in their achievement of the Certificate I and Certificate II in Hospitality. “Tracey makes learning engaging by providing practical experience and by differentiating for individual needs, therefore providing students with the feeling of success,” colleague Karenne Haygarth said. |
The impressive number of students who volunteer their own time to work alongside Tracey to cater for school events is a testament to the legacy of excellence she has created over her 32 year teaching career.
Together, Tracey and her students have also provided catering for various community events, including the Moreton Bay Council and the Pine Rivers Police-Citizens Youth Club, giving students a taste of how a real-world kitchen operates. Tracey’s love of Hospitality is clearly infectious; many of her students have gone on to enter the industry after school in both full-time and part-time capacities, while others have been inspired to pursue further study in the field by seeking out apprenticeships and TAFE courses. Congratulations Tracey on your nomination. By Claudia Farhart. |
