Fairview Heights State School
Toni Steinhardt is so devoted to reaching each of her students educationally and emotionally that her colleagues have often had to remind her to make some time for herself.
It’s clear this Fairview Height State School Year One teacher is taking a holistic approach to the education of her students; she adapts the curriculum, the physical classroom, and her teaching approach to cater for each individual student in her class.
“There is no one I know who goes to such lengths to respond to every need of every child in her care,” colleague Chris McVeigh said.
“She has a never-ending need to fulfill each child’s life while they are in her classroom,” Chris said.
Toni goes to great lengths to make every classroom activity appropriate for her students, always considering their stages of development as well as their emotional ability to cope with the transition to school life.
In what her colleagues have described as “full emotional devotion” to helping her students along the way in their own unique learning journeys, Toni even attends professional development courses targeted at helping specific students in her care.
The respect that Toni has garnered from the school community is formidable; parents will often request that their children be placed in her class so that they too can benefit from the wonderful and collaborative educational relationships she naturally forges with students and their families.
Congratulations Toni on your nomination.
