Sue Drew is transforming the way digital literacy is taught, working with her primary school students to help them develop impressive bodies of original digital media work.
 
Parents at Yarrabah State School can visit the school library to view the digital display, which includes an anti-bullying poster campaign that was produced by students using the digital media skills Sue had taught them.
 
“Parents are delighted with the quality of the work that students are producing. Students are pleased that they are generating work that they can be proud of,” colleague John Farvis said. 

Her students’ success in digital media production has given them a renewed sense of confidence and pride in their learning, encouraging them to achieve similar success in other aspects of their education.
 
In her relatively brief time at Yarrabah State School, Sue has already transformed the school library into a highly efficient resource centre, where she leads digital literacy lessons that cater for students across all year levels.
 
Sue’s aim is to add value to her students’ educational experiences by creating digital projects that provide opportunities for decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving.
