Sarah Wilson
Calamvale Community College
The early years are a crucial part of a child’s learning and development, and Sarah Wilson is passionate about it.
She develops learning experiences that set explicit goals and criteria for each student, taking on board their individual needs. This level of differentiation leads to students being highly engaged in their learning experiences. Sarah is also open to new and different methods of pedagogy to further enhance and maximise her students’ learning potential. |
Her learning experiences also develop the social skills of her young students, by providing lessons that embed teamwork scenarios.
As a result, her students develop skills that enable them to work either individually or collaboratively with each other. Sarah’s style of pedagogy also challenges students’ learning – setting them up for success in their primary school journey. Junior School Principal Jacqueline Welch says Sarah is a highly valued staff member of the College. “Sarah’s greatest strength is her pedagogical practice, and the knowledge and skills she shares within and beyond her teaching team,” Ms Welch says. Sarah is also a leader within her year level cohort, through mentoring programs and colleague support.
She fosters positive interactions with parents and the wider school community. Congratulations Sarah on your nomination. Written by Mark Zita. |
