Sarah Ramsden
Eatons Hill State School
Sarah Ramsden’s dedication to education in the early years has earned the profound respect of her colleagues and the students she teaches.
She has taken on leadership roles within Eatons Hill State School to implement programs such as the school’s Age Appropriate Pedagogy program. In addition, she maintains a support role in the management of the Early Years Transition Network, which links schools with kindergartens and child care centres. Her outstanding work also extends to the introduction of digital literacies in Prep classrooms, including the setting up and conducting of 14 iPad classes across the school. |
Because of her diligence, the school has made leaps and bounds with its use of technology– such as server upgrades, extending the WiFi network, managing school iPads and the facilitation of students who bring their own devices to school.
Another fruit of Sarah’s labour is the creation of a positive environment for her year-level colleagues. She has inspired her fellow teachers by boosting their confidence and helping them to reach their goals. Sarah also is proactive in attending and assisting in setting up professional development sessions and meetings and in supporting the school in external and internal events. Principal Hugh Goodfellow says Sarah undertakes her duties with an authentic focus on people, as well as results. “She builds great trust and loyalty with those with whom she works,” Mr Goodfellow says. Congratulations Sarah on your nomination. Written by Mark Zita. |
