Sarah Lewis has gained the respect and confidence of her fellow staff members at Thuringowa State High School and for the last two years has held the position of Year 7 coordinator.
She is currently the key teacher for Year 7 Science and has previously been key teacher for Year 7 Maths. Her classes are disciplined and routinely managed, enabling Sarah to provide specific feedback and support to individual students throughout the lesson. Sarah is responsible for connecting students from feeder schools to Thuringowa, helping them to have a smooth and comfortable transition. |
She has built a strong connection with each student, providing them with necessary equipment and differentiated learning support according to their needs socially, emotionally and academically.
The differentiation strategies and scaffolding tools Sarah uses during her lessons ensure all students are learning the curriculum most effectively. Congratulations Sarah on your Queensland College of Teachers Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award nomination. |
