Robert Parker has contributed enormously to learning and teaching experiences at Forest Lake State High School for staff and students alike.
As head of the Humanities department, Robert has steadily strengthened the practice of all teachers across his department. He has developed new unit planning templates for all Humanities subjects and regularly evaluates his teachers’ units to ensure content is being taught effectively. Robert has also been instrumental in developing a model of differentiation resulting in an astounding improvement of learning outcomes due to his students’ increased engagement with their subjects. |

“He is a highly valued collaborative member of the Forest Lake State High School staff." Robert encourages all of his staff to engage in professional development to ensure Forest Lake’s teaching practice maintains a high quality and strong alignment to the Australian Curriculum.
He also led the school’s development of a new pedagogical framework designed specifically for the Forest Lake learning environment, which led to a significant improvement in quality teaching across the entire school. In his exceptional teaching career spanning 21 years, Robert has learnt to think in a highly strategic manner that allows him to break down exactly what needs to be done to support the unique needs of his students and staff.
