Rachelle Flynn
Humpybong State School
In her third year of teaching Rachelle Flynn is already leading colleagues as the Year 2 coordinator and inspiring students, peers and parents with her engaging practice.
Rachelle uses digital technologies in the classroom, including flipped learning, Makey-Makey and Scratch Jnr, and shares her learning with other teachers at Humpybong State School. She regularly seeks feedback from school leaders on her teaching practice, proactively and enthusiastically pursues professional development and attends and assists at many school events outside of work hours. |
Inside the classroom she creates a deep sense of character within students to persevere, accept and give feedback and demonstrate a growth mindset, all within a high expectation mindset.
Her interaction with parents is exceptional: she has hosted school-based Parent Partnership Academy sessions teaching parents about online learning programs, while keeping in regular contact via email about upcoming events and student concerns. Rachelle is also a member of the school’s ICT Committee. Humpybong State School Master Teacher Melissa Wood says Rachelle brings a high level of energy to her teaching every day. Congratulations Rachelle on your nomination. |
