Enthusiasm, a belief in students, innovation, life-long learning, and a tenacious commitment to her school are some of the reasons Ascot State School teacher Rachel Winter has been nominated for a QCT Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award.
Rachel is the driving force behind important student programs including Opti-minds, the Genius Hour and the annual talent quest. She is also a member of the School Council and STEAM Team. Described as a life-long learner dedicated to innovation in the classroom, Rachel is praised for sharing her practice with others and for her evidenced-based decision making. |
The Master of Education student has enthusiastically embraced the challenge of teaching in a multi-age classroom this year, demonstrating the benefits of this learning environment to the school community.
Ascot State School principal Gayle Coleman says Rachel is an exceptional educator who is constantly seeking ways to improve her practice. “She has deep knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and provides a range of innovative and evidence-based strategies to ensure every child is learning and improving,” Gayle says. “Rachel has excellent rapport with her students, colleagues and parents,” she says.
“She is an asset to the teaching profession and should be recognised.” Congratulations Rachel on your Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award nomination. |
