Kerrie Dickson’s career experience as an accountant guarantees the Business and Accounting programs at The Southport School (TSS) are conducted to the highest standard.
Her extensive knowledge base and wide-ranging industry contacts means Kerrie’s students are on the path to success with an abundance of choices in their career path. A testament to Kerrie’s work is her selection to be Gold Coast Panel Chair for the Accounting area panel for the past five years and now State Panel member for the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA). |
As a lifelong learner herself, Kerrie has completed a Master of Educational Students degree with a focus of leadership and management.
During her tenure, she led the External Writing Team in the rewriting and improvement of the new Accounting syllabus. Kerrie has been instrumental in upskilling the TSS teaching staff in preparation for the new Queensland education system. She has also led professional development programs and workshops for teachers to familiarise them with the updated syllabus. Kerrie takes on a number of roles within the Southport community, including pastoral carer, as she believes strong bonds between home and school life is at the core of student learning success. She ensures students are able to cope with the stresses of academic study, and monitors their progress. Her involvement with external bodies has improved the standard of learning of students at TSS. Students are given real-world learning experiences thanks to Kerrie’s development and leadership within the field of accounting education. Congratulations Kerrie on your nomination. |
