Katie Bamford’s innovative practice of the ‘flipped-classroom’ has improved the overall achievement of students at Southport State High School.
She makes learning engaging and valuable, consistently demonstrating understandings of the current research into how students learn. She provides regular, ongoing feedback to her students, supporting them at all stages of the teaching and learning cycle. Katie uses her professional knowledge of and research into the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of her students to affect their learning. |
She is heavily involved in the school’s extracurricular program and gives freely of her time, supporting students outside the classroom and with homework club.
She regularly presents pedagogical approaches to colleagues at staff and faculty meetings and provides further training on these ideas for fellow teachers. Congratulations Katie on your Queensland College of Teachers Excellence in Teaching Award nomination. |
