Jenny Parsons
Albany Hills State School
Past students return as preservice teachers to Jenny Parson’s classroom at Albany Hills State School to learn from this highly-respected teacher.
After more than 40 years of teaching, Jenny continues to seek out learning opportunities to further enhance her own teaching ability and to help her students excel.
Her passion for teaching and her outstanding commitment to improving her practice are just some of the reasons she has been nominated for a Queensland College of Teachers Excellence in Teaching Award.
Jenny seeks out research to support students with diverse cultural backgrounds, seeks to embed indigenous perspectives in her teaching and manages the demands of the curriculum with age-appropriate pedagogy.
Parents are heavily involved in her classroom, participating in daily morning routines.
Her Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day and Christmas class events are extremely popular with her students and their families.
Congratulations Jenny on your nomination.
