Teachers who inspire their students through their enthusiasm deserve recognition for their work, and Inge Oppermann is one of those teachers.
As a teacher at St Joseph’s Primary School in Gayndah, Inge has shown a type of enthusiasm that has inspired her colleagues and students to learn and grow. She is proactive in finding ways to ensure all her students are motivated in their learning, and is eager to share her knowledge and ideas with her fellow teachers. |
Inge uses a range of academic data to inform her new strategies, and reflect on the success of her teaching practices. This way she is able to expertly ensure her students are learning to the very best of their abilities.
Digital literacies are an important teaching tool for Inge, and they bring a world of excitement to her lessons. Inge was integral in St Joseph’s adopting the 7 Steps to Writing Success program which has since led to significant improvements in student results. In addition, she is an active participant in community events and outreach programs – strengthening the relationship of the school with the Gayndah community. Inge regularly takes her stuednts to visit the local nursing homes. Principal Ben Gray says Inge’s passion has impressed him. “She is passionate about providing engaging and interesting learning experiences,” Ben says. “She is often found using her own time to prepare opportunities for students beyond the classroom.”
