​Helen Doyle has had an incredible teaching career spanning a huge 33 years.
 
The Camp Hill State Infants and Primary School preparatory teacher’s ability to transform her love of teaching into a love of learning among her students is what led her to be nominated by not just one but two parents for the 2017 QCT Excellence in Teaching Award.
 
“She caters for their learning needs to make fun, meaningful, hands on learning experiences that children can’t wait to come home and tell their parents about,” parent Deb Adams said.
 
Helen goes out of her way to guarantee her students are engaged, learning about their backgrounds, interacting with their families, and finding out exactly what makes them tick to ensure each and every child feels like a valued member of the class. 

​“Helen’s ability to create a love of learning and to make each child feel like they ‘aced it’ or ‘won the race’ is a credit to her,” parent Deanne Vassallo said.

Outside her own classroom, Helen has become a pillar of the school community. An event rarely passes without Helen’s attendance– be it a fair, movie night, Anzac Day ceremony, or school disco – allowing her to interact with her students and their families on a more personal level. 

Helen’s extensive experience has made her extremely valuable to the other teachers at her school, particularly more junior teachers, who regularly seek her out for advice and always feel more confident in the classroom as a result.
