Glenda Twiner
Calliope State School
“She provides what she says she will provide, means what she says, and does what she says she will do, keeps an open mind and most importantly, listens.”
According to her colleagues at Calliope State School, Glenda Twiner has all the characteristics of the ideal beginning teacher. Her exceptional demonstration of skills and knowledge in special education support have led to Glenda’s nomination for the 2017 Queensland College of Teachers Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award. |
Glenda’s colleague Kayleen Bishop says Glenda has formed relationships built on trust and respect within the school’s Special Education Program and beyond.
"There is no limit to Glenda's Support Teacher committment," says Kayleen. Glenda consistently succeeds in meeting the individual needs of her students by leading and implementing a series of special programs including those that focus on developing speech, social skills and gross- and fine-motor skills.
She also connects and collaborates with parents and carers in the community to create differentiated learning environments. Congratulations Glenda on your nomination. |
