Gabrielle Castle
Whites Hill State College
Drama has been reinvigorated at Whites Hill State College where Gabrielle Castle has completely rewritten the curriculum in response to student data and feedback.
The college’s Year 11 coordinator is also a business teacher and has led staff in the use of new technology in the classroom and provided professional development for more experienced teachers on a number of occasions. She has written and facilitated workshops as part of the school’s Eastern Alliance Cluster Primary Leadership Program, was a leading staff member behind the 2016 college musical, regularly engages with the college’s pedagogy coaches for the development of her own teaching practice, runs events for the staff Welfare team, and has organised professional and industry workshops and programs, including a workshop with the international award-winning Dead Puppets Society. |
Whites Hill State College Principal Paul Robertson said Gabrielle had embraced challenges and in the short time that she had worked there, become “integral to our success as a student-centred school”.
“She involves herself in many of the voluntary teams that provide direction, support and guidance of the College’s vision,” Paul says. Gabrielle's passion and enthusiasm is infectious for students and staff alike. Congratulations Gabrielle on your nomination.
