Danielle Ward
Southport State High School
Danielle Ward shows immense passion in the field of special needs education.
This passion is evident in her classroom planning. Danielle makes sure to know each and every student that she teaches, and develops units of work that cater for every level of differentiation in her classes. She makes sure her students achieve their full potential. She constantly reviews classroom and academic data, and adapts future learning experiences to the changing needs of her students. |
She also has a deep passion for students who are at risk of disengagement.
Danielle’s passion also extends to outside the classroom. She is an active participant in professional development sessions that keep her up to date. She is also in the process of completing a PhD. Various universities and higher education centres invite Danielle to lecture at seminars and classes, where she shares her knowledge gained through valuable classroom experience. She has been recognised by the Governor General for her works in youth programs with Gold Coast TAFE. She is highly active in the community, participating in organisations relating to autism, disability welfare and advocacy. Southport State High School bestowed the honour of Teacher of the Year award to Danielle this year. Congratulations Danielle on your nomination. Written by Mark Zita. |
