Chloe Bennett
Riverside Christian College, Maryborough
A talented Maryborough visual artist who is inspiring students and colleagues through her teaching has been nominated for a prestigious state award.
Riverside Christian College (RCC) Assistant Principal Stuart Taylor says Senior Art Teacher Chloe Bennett is “an outstanding example of the best and brightest the profession is producing”.
The fourth-year teacher, who has her own commercial website, has been nominated for a Queensland College of Teachers Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award.
“Chloe is a practising artist who loves curriculum, teaches to best practice, connects wholeheartedly to her students, is collegial and openly communicates with parents,” Stuart says.
“She is an industry expert who is inspiring her students to develop 21st Century skills.”
A presenter at the Queensland Christian Schools Conference and Fraser Coast TeachMeet, Chloe designed RCC’s new art facility based on commercial artist workspaces.
Her commercial success, which includes being published in three overseas art magazines so far this year, inspires students.
Chloe pushes her own artistic practice to deliver learning experiences in the areas students are asking for – animation, installations and digital art.
She offers her design skills to other subject areas and school events, communicates regularly with parents and invests deeply in the lives of her students.
Congratulations Chloe on your nomination.
