Cassie Jashar is sharing her outstanding knowledge and skills with fellow beginning teachers to help them in their careers.
As an integral part of the Early Career Teachers program offered at Saint Augustine’s College in Cairns, Cassie is showcasing her teaching portfolio and dedicating her time to help her colleagues to excel in their classroom practice. Her collaborative work with colleagues also challenges more experienced teachers to reflect on their own practices. |
Cassie’s outstanding dedication to improving all aspects of learning at her school has led to her nomination for the 2017 Queensland College of Teachers Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award.
She seamlessly integrates the use of digital technology into her teaching, including several websites for Science subjects that were constructed by Cassie herself. Her lessons are engaging and encourage students to think critically about scientific concepts in hands-on experiments. Cassie is also a valued member of the Years 7 and 8 homeroom teaching teams, where she applies her expert understanding of adolescent development stages and challenges to support her homeroom students. Students in Cassie’s care consistently reach above-average levels of achievement. Congratulations Cassie on your nomination. |
