Beginning teacher Blake Toll is settling into his teaching career very nicely.
The Craigslea State High School teacher, who has brought a wealth of knowledge in digital technologies to the school, has helped students achieve increasingly outstanding learning results. His dedication to drive innovation and make a difference has led to Blake’s nomination for the 2017 QCT Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award. |
Despite having taught for less than two years, Blake has shared his fresh perspective on technology by supporting colleagues with his specialist skills to enhance their current practices.
Blake was able to make Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) learning relevant for his students by carefully reviewing and amending the previous systems in place. He has been innovative with his practices which has enhanced the Business Studies program which has had a positive impact on student learning. |
Blake’s mentor Joanne Warry says, “Blake is an outstanding beginning teacher who has demonstrated initiative and self-awareness. He contributes positively to the Business and IT Department and is keen to improve his own performance by responding to advice from colleagues.
By creating a mix of traditional and digital information that his students have immediate access to, Blake has established a solid classroom routine that consistently provides students and parents with the necessary guidance and feedback to progress. Congratulations Blake on your nomination. |
