Given she has more than 30 years of experience working in Queensland schools, it’s difficult to measure the incredible impact Anne McCarthy-Rogers has had on those around her.
Anne is now in the running to win the 2017 Queensland College of Teachers Outstanding Contribution to Teaching Award. Anne’s incredible commitment to the teaching profession has spanned several roles including Principal, Teaching Principal, Health and Physical Education teacher, classroom teacher of Years P-7, Junior Secondary English/SOSE teacher and curriculum leader, in both metropolitan and remote locations. |
Her wealth of knowledge and humble nature make Anne the ultimate team member and role model.
As demonstrated in her roles helping lead the Whites Hill State College (WHSC) Wellbeing and Positive Behaviour and Learning Teams, Anne truly values the happiness and security of her colleagues and students. She consistently goes out of her way to positively influence the school’s culture. Anne is passionate about providing students with the necessary literacy skills they need to thrive in society. Anne has been integral in the teaching and coordination of the College’s reading acceleration program which has been designed to help students whose literacy skills place them at risk for future learning.
