Amanda Bowker
Ormiston College
Amanda Bowker has been instrumental in transforming the learning approach of Ormiston College through modernisation.
In her six years at the College, she has led and designed a new curricular framework to take advantage of 21st Century Learning Design – a program which enables students of today to effectively engage with the curriculum. She worked with all teaching staff to ensure the process was inclusive of the various learners of the College. Amanda has also developed procedures in relation to peer-to-peer observation and feedback programs, and designed the standardised unit planner that implements the updated curricular framework. |
She has also led in the implementation of the National Curriculum in the Junior School, looking for innovative ways to incorporate our unique learning environment and the College’s strong emphasis on digital technologies and STEM. As a result, the College’s NAPLAN results continue to improve and reflect the College’s strong emphasis on ensuring academic success for all.
Amanda has not only led her school in the areas of curriculum implementation, she also educates teachers outside her school. She has presented seminars in different teaching conferences across the country.
Headmaster Brett Webster is pleased with Amanda’s contribution.
