Yoga and mindfulness are having a positive impact on Calamvale Community College students, thanks to first-year teacher Allison Crowther.
The Science and Mathematics teacher, who also happens to be a yoga teacher in training, has created an engaging learning environment that encourages students to take on challenges and build their resilience. Calamvale Community College (CCC) Head of Program – Science, Roshni Sharma, says Allison is committed to fostering positive interactions with students, parents, colleagues and the community. “She believes the foundation of teaching starts with relationships and every student feels valued in her classroom,” Roshni says. |
Over the past six months Allison has participated in assessment moderation, assisted with planning, and evaluated and modified learning and teaching programs to create a productive learning environment.
CCC principal Sharyn Angel says Allison has been a great addition to staff at the college. “She is an enthusiastic participant at staff meetings and, faculty meetings and builds positive relationships with students, parents and the community,” Sharyn says. Congratulations Allison on your nomination. |
