Adam Daley
Sherwood State School
Adam Daley is known for consistently going “above and beyond” in his interactions with parents, students and the wider Sherwood State School Community.
Adam embarked on his teaching journey after gaining experience in a wide variety of jobs, culminating with an 18-month period spent studying abroad and working as a game ranger in nature reserves in South Africa. He has initiated a number of extra-curricular activities to provide increased opportunities for students and is constantly seeking opportunities for professional learning and feedback to increase his knowledge. These activities include organising the APSMO Maths Olympiad and facilitating Opti-MINDS, to allow students at his school to explore varied pursuits. |
Adam has also worked with a number of external agencies to seek understanding and effectively and proactively support students. Adam has consulted and worked collaboratively with; Evolve Therapeutic Services, SPOT Clinic at University of Queensland, and Building Block Studio. This has allowed him to adapt and evolve his teaching methods to meet the ever changing needs of his students.
Principal Dr Greg Nelson says Adam is a teacher who has shown a consistent willingness and capacity to work as part of teams to meet the needs of students, particularly those with complex needs. "Adam consistently demonstrates a willingness to learn and engage in professional learning to enlarge his teacher's repertoire," Greg says. Congratulations Adam on your nomination.
